AS A JUNIOR (2015-2016): Finished in ninth place in the 200 yd. medley relay (1:56.67) at the New England Catholic Invitational…Took fourth in the 100 yd. butterfly (1:01.76) against Bridgewater State…Came in sixth in the 100 yd. backstroke (1:05.29) against Keene State…Dropped 1 second and came in fifth in the 100 yd. butterfly (1:00.78) against BU…Tied for fifth in the 100 yd. butterfly (59.07) at the UConn Open.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2014-2015): Came in thirty-first place overall in the 100 yd. backstroke (1:04.28) and twenty-fourth overall in the 100 yd. butterfly (59.67) at the Terrier Invitational…Took forty-first in the 50 yd. freestyle at the New England Catholic Invitational (26.76).
AS A FRESHMAN (2013-2014): Mackenzie competed with the eagles in every meet this season...C Finalist in the 100 and 200 butterfly at the Terrier Invitational...Competed at the ACC Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina...Greatly improved upon her backstroke.
BEFORE BC: Attended Wayzata High School... lettered all four years... team captain in 2012... All-State in 2011 and 2012... All-American in 2012... Currently holds school and section records in the 200 medley relay and 100 butterfly from Junior and Senior year.
PERSONAL: Mackenzie is from Plymouth, MN and is the daughter of Bob and Diane Merriam... Her older sister, Kelsey (21), recently graduated from University of Missouri, School of Journalism... her brother Alex (20), attends the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota... swims for the Aquajets swim team.
