Trademark Licensing
In alignment with the College’s policy on the use of Boston College indicia (names, logos, trademarks, imagery, etc.) and to protect and promote the propriety interests of the College, the Boston College licensing program was established to manage and authorize third-party use of the indicia on high-quality, socially responsible, and tasteful merchandise and consumer products.
Only licensed, approved vendors (licensees) may produce and provide items bearing BC’s indicia. This applies to products intended for commercial and retail distribution as well as to “giveaway” products being requested by student groups, campus departments, and other units of the College.
With support from the Office of the General Counsel and the Office of University Communications, the BC licensing program is coordinated by Boston College Athletics. The College has also retained a specialized licensing agency to assist with program development, logistics, and administration.
Boston College is affiliated with the Fair Labor Association and with the Worker Rights Consortium, and as part of their License Agreements, all licensees agree to comply with the Boston College Code of Workplace Conduct.
