AS A SENIOR (2018-19): Swam a personal best in the 100 Y Free with a time of 56.65… swam a season best in the 200 Y Back with a time of 2:08. 24… swam a personal best of 28.81 in the 50 Y Back… swam a season best in the 100 Y Back with a time of 1:00.15 ... named to the ACC Honor Roll.
AS A JUNIOR (2017-2018): Competed in backstroke events throughout her junior year…at the Terrier Invitational, placed 23rd in the 100 yd. backstroke (1:00.17), 41st in the 500 yd. freestyle (5:17.92), and 47th in the 100 yd. butterfly (1:02.00)…at the Boston Winter Open, placed second in the 200 yd. backstroke (2:08.20) which she then improved in a time trial (2:07.29), and also placed 5th in the 100 yd. backstroke (59.69) ... placed fourth in the 200 yd. backstroke (2:14.00) vs. Keene State ... placd third in both the 200 yd. freestyle (2:06.20) and 50 yd. backstroke (29.91) vs. Bridgewater State ... named to the ACC Honor Roll.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2016-2017): Competed in backstroke and middle-distance freestyle events throughout the season…at the Terrier Invitational, placed 18th in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:08.48 in the bonus final, 33rd with a time of 5:17.46 in the 500 yard freestyle, 35th in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.87…traveled to the dual meet against Williams College and placed fifth in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:11.29…concluded her season at the Husky Invite with a season best of 2:07.94 in the 200 yard backstroke, as well as a strong 100 yard backstroke.
AS A FRESHMAN (2015-2016): Finished in fifth place in the 200 yd. medley relay (1:55.75) against Bryant…Took fifth place in the 100 yd. backstroke (1:02.35) at the New England Catholic Invitational…Finished eighth in the 200 yd. backstroke (2:24.68) at the Thomas Murphy Invitational…Took first place and dropped an outstanding 12 seconds in the 200 yd. backstroke (2:12.61) against Keene State…Came in fourth place in the 200 yd. medley relay (1:52.41) against Williams…Came in seventh place, dropping another 3 seconds, in the 200 yd. backstroke (2:09.85) at the Dartmouth Invitational…Took first place and dropped another 2 seconds in the 200 yd. backstroke (2:07.57) at the UConn Open…Competed in 10 regular season meets and the ACC Championships as a freshman.
BEFORE BC: Mary attended Horace Greeley High School and swam on the varsity swim team all four years...named All-League four years, All-Section 1 year...four year sectional and state qualifier and a state Team Captain in 2014, her senior year.
PERSONAL: Mary is the daughter of Robert Fitzsimmons and Margaret Collins...she is an only child, and the owner of a Mini Australian Labradoodle named Missy...swims for her club team, the BGNW Marlins, and has for the past 10 years.
