AS A JUNIOR (2018-19): Swam a personal best in the 50 y Back with a time of 28.84… swam a season best in the 200 Y Back with a time of 2:13.86… swam a season best in the 100 Y Back with a time of 1:00.62… swam a personal best in the 50 Y Fly with a time of 29.29 ... named to the ACC Honor Roll.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2017-2018): Competed primarily in backstroke events ... at the Terrier Invitational, 29th in the 200 yd. backstroke (2:13.01), placed 38th in the 100 yd. backstroke (1:01.91), 51st in the 100 yd. butterfly (1:02.71), and 65th in the 50 yd. freestyle (26.08)…at the Boston Winter Open, placed 6th in the 200 yd. backstroke (2:13.58) and 7th in the 100 yd. backstroke, with a season-best time (1:00.06)…at the New England Catholic Invite, placed 35th in the 100 yd. backstroke (1:06.19), 40th in the 200 yd. backstroke (2:23.93), and 57th in the 50 yd. freestyle (27.63)… named to the ACC Honor Roll.
AS A FRESHMAN (2016-2017): Competed primarily in backstroke events for the Eagles … At the New England Catholic Invite, placed 11th in the 100 yard backstroke and 20th in the 200 yard backstroke … placed 36th in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.99 at the Terrier Invitational and 31st in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:13.98 … finished her season at the Husky Invite with a season best of 2:13.04 in the 200 yard backstroke.
BEFORE BC: Attended Charlotte Catholic High School…lettered all four years…team captain in 2015-2016…3x State Champion 2012-2014…4x State Team member...made states in 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly.
PERSONAL: Mariel is from Charlotte, NC…she is the daughter of Gary and Donna Green…She has three sisters, Jessica (27) who attended Duke University, Carly (23) who attended University of South Carolina, and Cameron (13)…Mariel swims for her club team, SwimMAC Carolina and has for the past 10 years.
