AS A JUNIOR (2015-2016): Took second in the 1 m. (285.45) against Bridgewater State…Took second in both the 1 m. (298.80) and the 3 m. (249.52) against Williams…Came in third in both the 1 m. (255.22) and the 3 m. (250.50) against Tufts…Placed 30th overall in the 1 m. (222.25) and 31st overall in the 3 m. (188.15) at the ACC Championships.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2014-2015): Took third place in the 1 m. (229.25) and the 3 m. (224.00) at the All Catholic Invitational… Improved by 20 points and finished fourth in the 1 m. (248.47) and by 6 points and finished third in the 3 m. (231.30) at the Thomas Murphy Invitational… Had personal best performance of the season in the 1 m. (277.28) and came in third against Williams… Finished 29th overall in the 1 m. (198.90) and 30th overall in the 3 m. (213.55) at the ACC Championships.
AS A FRESHMAN (2013-2014): Member of the travel squad... Jack started the season on a high note, recording a first place finish on the 1 meter board and a second place finish on the 3 meter board at the New England Catholic Invite... He recorded second place finishes on both 1 and 3 meter against the University of Maine and Williams College... McCarthy finished with personal best scores against Tufts on both 1 and 3 meter, with 265.8 and 251.77, respectively... Jack was chosen to represent BC at the ACC Championships in Greensboro, NC... Received the James J. Kane Academic Award...Member of the ACC Honor Roll...Jack competed in all meets except two due to an injury.
BEFORE BC: Attended the Hotchkiss School..lettered all four years... team captain in 2012-2013...Founders League Diving Champion in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013... Founders League All-Star in 2011 and 2013...hold school and pool record for 6-dive competition... holds Founders League 11-dive championship meet diving record... The Nelson S. Talbott '11 Cup recipient in 2010 and 2011... The William N. Stakely Swimming Award recipient in 2012 and 2013... Also a member of the Varsity Lacrosse team
PERSONAL: Jack is from Madison, New Jersey... he is the son of Fran and Jim McCarthy... He has two sisters, Ryan (17) and Ali (13), both competitive field hockey players... Jack dives for his club team, "Lords of the Boards" out of the Bridgewater, New Jersey YMCA.
