AS A SENIOR (2017-2018): Team captain ... placed fifth in the 500 yd. freestyle at the Terrier Invitational (5:17:41) ... placed fourth in the 500 yd. freestyle vs. MIT (5:27.34) placed second in the 500 yd. freestyle vs. Bridgewater State (5:33.58) ... named to the ACC Honor Roll.
AS A JUNIOR (2016-2017): Traveled to Chicago to compete in the Chicago Invitational meets…Competed at the Terrier Invitational in November in the distance freestyle events for the Eagles… Holds the team’s best dual meet time of the season in the 1650 yard freestyle (18:18.50)… Recognized as an ACC Scholar Athlete at the end of the year and voted Team Captain of the upcoming 2017-2018 season for her senior year.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2015-2016): One of the strongest distance swimmers on the women’s team…Took first place in the 1000 yard Freestyle (10:49.59) and the 500 yard Freestyle (5:18.82) against Bryant…Dropped almost 3 seconds in the 500 yard Freestyle (5:15.97) to finish in third place at the Thomas Murphy Invitational…Swam the 1650 yard Freestyle at the Thomas Murphy Invitational and finished in second place (18:18.50)…Finished in sixth place in the 200 yard Freestyle (1:59.96) against Williams…Dropped almost another full second in the 500 yard Freestyle (5:14.76) to finish in fifth place at the UConn Invitational…Competed in the ACC Championships for the Eagles. Holds the team’s best dual meet time of the season in the 1650 yard Freestyle (18:18.50)…Recognized as an ACC Scholar Athlete at the end of the year.
AS A FRESHMAN (2014-2015): Came in ninth place in the 50 yard Freestyle (26.40) against Williams…Took eleventh place in the 100 yard Freestyle (56.97) against Connecticut…Took twentieth place in the 200 yard Freestyle (1:56.79) at the Terrier Invitational…Competed in the ACC Championships as a freshman and came in forty-eight place overall in the 200 yard Freestyle (2:01.39)…Totaled 63.00 individual points in dual meets…Holds season’s best dual meet time in the 1650 yard Freestyle (18:16.30). Recognized as an ACC Scholar Athlete at the end of the year.
BEFORE BC: Attended Darien High School where she swam on the varsity team all four years…Was All-State in 2011, 2012, and 2013, Rookie of the Year her freshman year in 2010 and team captain in 2013…Was an All American Consideration in the 400 yard Freestyle Relay in 2013 and also holds the team record in the 400 yard Freestyle Relay…Swam for her club team, Darien YMCA Piranhas.
PERSONAL: Amanda is from Darien, Connecticut…she is the daughter of Andrew and Victoria Bieler…Has a brother, Jake (18), who is attending United States Military Academy at West Point , a sister, Morgan (16), a junior at DHS, and a golden retriever named Coleman…Enrolled in the Carroll School of Management.
