AS A JUNIOR (2018-2019): Concluded a strong season with personal bests in the 50, 100, and 200 butterfly and the 400 IM … placed first in the 1000 freestyle against Maine with a time of 10:07... selected for Miami travel squad ... swam a personal best with a time of 51.55 at the Boston Winter Open in the 100 butterfly ... swam a season-best in the 1000 Freestyle with a time of 9:53.48 ... accumulated over 200 career points by the end of the season ... named to the ACC Honor Roll.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2017-2018): Placed second in the 1650 yd. freestyle with a personal best of 16:27.52 and fourth in the 500 yd. freestyle (4:47.57) at the Boston Winter Open ... at the Terrier Invitational, placed 16th in the 1650 yd. freestyle (16:38.21), 23rd in the 400 yd. individual medley (4:14.87), 25th in the 200 yd. butterfly (1:57.66), and 29th in the 500 yd. freestyle (4:47.94)…at the dual meet vs. Williams, placed 6th in the 1000 yd. freestyle (10:03.88)…at the dual meet vs. Boston University, placed seventh in the 1000 yd. freestyle (10:07.10) ... placed second in the 1000 yd. freestyle against MIT (10:03.38)…placed first in the 500 yd. freestyle vs. Keene State (4:56.66) ... placed fourth in the 500 yd. freestyle against both George Washington (4:58.75) and Loyola (MD) (4:56.16) ... placed second in the 1000 yd. freestyle at the New England Catholic Invite (10:16.10) ... named to the ACC Honor Roll.
AS A FRESHMAN (2016-17): Ended strong year at Husky Invitational having greatly contributed to the distance program…took third in the 200 yard butterfly (2:01.79) and the 1000 yard freestyle (10:16.63) at the New England Catholic Invite...at the Terrier Invitational, turned in lifetime best in the 200 yard butterfly (1:57.37)...came in third place in the 1000 yard freestyle in the dual meet against Williams (9:55.84)…took second place in the 1000 yard freestyle with a season best, dropping 4 seconds, in the dual meet against Boston University (9:51.03)…totaled 83.00 individual points for the team throughout the year.
BEFORE BC: Attended Haverhill High School, varsity all four years... Captain 2015-2016... Eastern Sectional champion 500 freestyle 2015... MVP 2014, 2015, 2016... Pool record in 200 freestyle relay... Club team record holder in 1000 and 1650 freestyle... Club team Captain
PERSONAL: Matt is from Haverhill, MA where he was born and raised his whole life. He attended Haverhill Public Schools along with his older sister, Lauren Amedeo (Bay State College), and is the son of Lisa and David Amedeo....swam for SOLO Aquatics based out of Haverhill and Bradford Swim Club throughout the summer season in his high school years...ranked in the top 1% of his graduating class and hopes to pursue a successful career in political science.
