
Swimming & Diving Earns All-ACC Academic Honors

35 members of the Swimming & Diving program were honored by the ACC on Wednesday afternoon
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the 2025 Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving All-Academic teams on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles had 36 honorees, 18 from the Men's team and 18 from the Women's team.Â
In order to be selected to the All-ACC Academic Teams, the athletes must have a 3.0 grade point average for the fall semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during their academic career. The student-athletes must also have competed in either the ACC Swimming & Diving Championships or the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships.
The Boston College Men's Swimming & Diving team had 18 athletes named to the All-ACC Academic team. Of the 18 athletes honored, 13 earned a grade point average of 3.3 or higher, while five of the 18 had a 3.5 or higher.Â
Michael Horkan led the way in the classroom for the Eagles, earning a Fall semester grade point average of 3.848.Â
Horkan, a native of Allendale, N.J., is currently pursuing a degree in Management. The senior participated at the 2025 ACC Swimming & Diving Championships, where he competed in the Men's 100 yard backstroke and 100 yard butterfly races.Â
The Boston College Women's Swimming & Diving team had 18 athletes named to the All-ACC Academic team. Of the 18 athletes honored, 15 earned a grade point average of 3.3 or higher, while 13Â of the 17 had a 3.5 or higher.Â
Allison McCabe led the way in the classroom for the Eagles, earning a Fall semester grade point average of 3.934.Â
McCabe, a native of Westwood, Mass., is currently pursuing his degree in Management. The sophomore participated at the 2025 ACC Swimming & Diving Championships, where she competed in the Women's 1m Diving competition.Â
