AS A JUNIOR: Led a crew of young distance swimmers...named Outstanding Performer in the 10/26 dual meet at Stony Brook...named Outstanding Performance in the 1000 in the 1/19 dual meet vs. UMass...finished third in the 400m freestyle at the Orange Bowl Classic...swam the 1650, 500 & 200 freestyle at ACC Championships in Atlanta, with a personal best in the mile...voted Captain for the 2008-2009 season. AS A SOPHOMORE: Continued to add depth in the distance events...contributed points to the team in close dual meets at Emory, Colgate & BU...finished third in the 400m freestyle at the Orange Bowl Classic...swam the 1650, 500 & 200 freestyle at ACC Championships in North Carolina, with personal bests in the mile & 200. AS A FRESHMAN: Competed primarily in the 1000 & 500 freestyle...contributed points to the team in close dual meets at Northeastern & Boston University...swam the 1650, 500 & 200 freestyle at ACC Championships in Maryland, with personal bests in the mile & 500. BEFORE BC: Competed for Sayville High School and Islip Aquatics under Coach Ed Kropp...3-time All-State and 8-time All-County selection...high school valedictorian...NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete finalist...Newsday Long Island Scholar-Athlete...school record holder in the 200 & 400 freestyle relays...junior & senior year captain of an undefeated league champion team...2004 SHS Girls Swimming MVP...2004 Empire State Games medalist in the 200m & 400m freestyle.
