Attended Marquette University High School...Lettered four years...Team captain 2007...Two-time team MVP...Part of 5 School Records (50 Free, 100 Free, 200 MR, 200 FR, 400 FR)...All-American in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay, and 400 Freestyle Relay...Led off State Champion 200 Medley Relay...Sectional Champion 50 Free (2004-05), 100 Free (2004-05) and 200 IM (2007)...Conference Champion in the 200 IM (2007)...All-State in 200 MR, 200 IM, 50 Free, 200 FR, 100 Free, 100 Backstroke and 400 FR in 2007. Spaeth was a member of National Honor Society, Academic All-Conference, All-State and All-American.

Alex abides in Mequon, Wisconsin. He is the son of Mark and Patricia Spaeth. He has two siblings: Christine (25) graduated from the University of Dayton, and Michael (11) is a student at St. Monica School. He is enrolled in the Carroll School of Management majoring in Business.
