AS A SOPHOMORE (2017-18)
Appeared in 25 games before stepping away from the team in late January … played exclusively on the team’s fourth line … posted her first career point in the Eagles’ 8-1 win at Harvard (Nov. 22), picking up an assist on Kate Annese’s power-play goal in the third period … had two shots on the season and two blocked shots in that Harvard game.
AS A FRESHMAN (2016-17)
Dressed for the final 37 games of the season … saw most of her time as the right wing on the fourth line … did not record any points, but had seven shots, was a plus-1 on the season and was whistled for two minor penalties … also recorded her first career blocked shot at Maine (Oct. 15).
BEFORE BC
Began her high school career at Massachusetts’ Falmouth High under head coach – and former BC defenseman – Erin Blood … helped the Clippers reach the girls state finals in both 2013 and 2014, her freshman and sophomore seasons … also an MIAA all-star… moved to Proctor Academy to repeat her sophomore season and spent two seasons in Andover, N.H., where she played under Corey Cooper … was a 2013-14 NEPSAC Division II All-Star and then collected 54 points as a junior in 2014-15, leading the scoring race in both Divisions I and II … moved to Tabor Academy for her senior season in 2015-16, playing for head coach Eric Long …in 24 games, scored 12 goals and added seven assists, helping Tabor go 15-5-4 on the year – including a 14-game winning streak to close the season … has played club hockey with the Cape Cod Storm under head coach Scott Ghelfi, and the NH Avalanche (who advanced to the USA Hockey Tier 1 Under-16 National Championship tournament) under head coach Bob Tuite … most recently played with West Coast Selects under head coach Kathy Pippy and with Bay State Breakers under head coach Scott Shaunessy … also played field hockey at Falmouth, Proctor and Tabor … upon arriving at Proctor, won the Marvin Award as the school’s top new athlete in 2013 … as a senior, helped Tabor qualify for the New England (NEPSAC) field hockey tournament with a 13-3-1 record while scoring 15 goals and adding five assists.
PERSONAL
Rachel is the youngest of Cathy and David Moore’s three children … she also has two older brothers, Brandon and Jordan … enrolled in the Lynch School of Education as a physiology and human development major … plans to pursue a career in hospital work upon graduation, most likely in pediatric care … has been an honor roll student her entire high school career … enjoys traveling and volunteering with children’s groups in her spare time … was also involved in Big Buddies and Special Olympics in high school.
