Steve Klein, a 6-foot-2 linebacker from Westwood, N.J., comes to Boston College as a top-15 prospect from the state of New Jersey (ESPN). As a senior at Westwood Regional High School, Klein recorded five interceptions, two pass breakups and two forced fumbles on defense en route to First-Team All-State honors. On offense, Klein scored 30 touchdowns. In his junior season, Klein rushed for 1,124 yards on 132 carries with 13 touchdowns on the ground, and nine catches for 159 yards and two receiving touchdowns. In addition, Klein added 81 total tackles and two interceptions on the other side of the ball. Klein ended his high school career as a two-time captain, a state champion and a three-time state Sectional champion that amassed over 300 career tackles and 3,100 rushing yards. Klein also played baseball and earned All-State honors on the diamond.
