A 5-10 receiver from Jacksonville, Fla, Kelvin Brown Jr. recorded seven touchdowns as a senior at Raines High School en route to Male Scholar Athlete of the Year honors. Brown will compete in the state semifinals on Friday, December 5. Brown played his junior season at Baldwin High School in Jacksonville, Fla, where he totaled 42 receptions for 825 yards and 12 touchdowns on offense, and 10 tackles, one interception and one pass breakup on defense. Brown is a two-time Gateway Conference Award winner. Brown also was a regional qualifier in the 100-meter dash as a sophomore, posting a time of 10.72, a 22.07 in the 200-meter dash and a long jump distance of 36 ‘5.
