Winner (along with Ricky Brown) of the 2005 Scanlan Award, the highest honor bestowed upon a Boston College football player; the award is given to a senior who excels on the field, in the classroom and in the community...earned All-ACC Second-Team honors...selected to participate in the Hula Bowl.
2005 Season
Started at center in all 12 contests, finishing his career with 37 straight starts for the Eagles...named one of two team captains for the 2005 season...paved the way for four 100-yard rushing performances and a collective 1,515 yards rushing by L.V. Whitworth and Andre Callender...Ross anchored an offensive line that returned all five starters and that was the ACC's biggest, weighing a collective 1,586 pounds.
2004 Season
Earned All-Big East second-team honors...started all 12 games, bringing his streak of consecutive starts to 25...he and Jeremy Trueblood were the veterans on a young starting offensive line...helped pave the way for 100-yard rushing performances by redshirt freshmen LV Whitworth and Andre Callender, and true freshman A.J. Brooks.
2003 Season
Got the nod for the starting center position for the Wake Forest game...started all 13 games for the Eagles at center; had outstanding year filling in for four-year starter Dan Koppen, who started for the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots in 2003...helped pave the way for Derrick Knight to become BC's all-time rushing leader...good spring drills landed him in the number one spot at center on the summer depth chart.
2002 Season
Number two on the depth chart at center to Dan Koppen...saw significant playing time as backup at that position...helped pave the way for another 1,000-yard rusher (Derrick Knight) for the Eagles.
2001 Season
Did not see playing time and was redshirted.
High School
Played in the 2001 Big 33 Football Classic; the game pits Pennsylvania All-Stars against Ohio All-Stars...Earned all-Midwest honors from SuperPrep and Tom Lemming...captured Associated Press Division I all-state second team honors as a senior defensive lineman...was an all-Southwest Ohio and all-city first team selection...was a two-time all-Greater Catholic League choice; earned GCL best defensive lineman honors in 2000...registered 60 tackles, seven sacks and 12 tackles for loss as a senior...was 2000 team MVP...played for head coach Steve Rasso...was a four-year shot put and discus thrower on the Bombers' track and field team.
