BC Falls to No. 10 Florida State in Final ACC Series Opener

Brighton, Mass. - The Boston College softball team (13-36, 3-19) fell to No. 10 Florida State University (44-8, 19-3) 10-0 Friday afternoon at Harrington Athletics Village in the first game of the series.
FSU got on board first with three runs at the top of the second with BC remaining scoreless 3-0. Defensively, BC remained vigilant, keeping the Seminoles scoreless in the third inning.
FSU tallied another four runs at the top of the fourth. The Eagles were kept off the scoreboard with no runs or hits.
Kelly Colleran entered the middle of the inning to get the final out, following it up with a two strikeout at the top of the fifth.
In the top half of the sixth, the Seminoles plated three more runs to take a 10-0 lead that they would hold onto to shut out the Eagles.
UP NEXT
BC continues their series with FSU at Harrington Athletics Village on Saturday afternoon with a 4 p.m. start on the ACC Network. The Eagles will recognize the Class of 2026 in a pregame ceremony.
