No. 3 Lacrosse Suffers Loss to No. 2 Northwestern

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - No. 3 Boston College fell to No. 2 Northwestern, 20-12, on Friday evening in the season opener inside Fish Field House.
The Eagles fall to 0-1 on the season, while NW moves to 1-0.
Molly Driscoll paced the offense with four points, totaling two goals and two assists. The junior attacker was one of four Eagles who scored twice. Â
Abbey Herod carded eight draw controls, with Shea Baker and Avery Hudson netting six apiece. Caroline Chisholm, in her first collegiate appearance, led the team with two caused turnovers. Shea Dolce registered six saves, surpassing 500 saves for her career, becoming one of three goalies in school history to reach the milestone.
The Eagles fought back from a 7-2 first-quarter deficit when they outscored their counterpart 4-1 in the second quarter. Marissa White led the charge with both of her goals in the period, registering her first in a BC uniform, while Hanna Davis capped off a 4-0 run. Northwestern found the back of the net with 1:16 left to take an 8-6 lead into the break.
NW continued its push in the second half, pushing its lead to four until Giulia Colarusso sliced the gap to three, 10-7. However, the Wildcats put together a 6-1 surge that went into the fourth quarter, stretching the lead to 16-8 and eventually pulling away for the win.
BC returns to action next Friday, Feb. 13 against Notre Dame in Fish Field House at 4 p.m. in the ACC opener.
