Theo Schucht Breaks 32-Year Record at BU Valentine Invitational

His 3000m time ranks fourth in the ACC and 19th in the NCAA
BOSTON, Mass – Theodor Schucht broke a 32-year track and field record, as he and Boston College Men's Track & Field competed in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational Friday afternoon.

Next Up: The Eagles conclude their regular season with the Terrier DMR Challenge on Sunday, February 22 ahead of the ACC Championships at the TRACK at New Balance.

- Owen Pett took second place in his heat of the 800m, running a 1:51.63. His time placed him 17th overall. Aidan McHugh also finished second in his heat, setting a new personal best of 1:54.27.
- Tommy Flynn (4:12.57), Roman Sierpina (4:15.51) and Jack Morelli (4:16.52) all set personal bests in the mile.
- Schucht took fourth in his heat and overall in the 3000m, running a 7:49.03. His time broke Chris Georgules' record by over 10 seconds, and putting him fourth in the ACC and 19th in the NCAA.
- Mateo Bianchi continued his impressive indoor season, running a personal best of 7:59.67 in the 3000m to finish in the top 35. That time puts him third all-time in program history. Colin Peattie was next, crossing the line at 8:02.72 to finish in the top 50 and crush his previous best by 16 seconds.
- Aidan Brancaccio led the BC distance group in the 5000m, running a personal best time of 14:30.45.
