Mateo Bianchi's Season Concludes at NCAA Outdoor Championships

Finishes 21st place in the 3000m steeplechase
EUGENE, Ore. – Mateo Bianchi represented Boston College at the 2026 Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Oregon at Hayward Stadium, racing in the 3000m steeplechase. He finished in 21st place overall in 8:41.84.
The Laguna Beach, California native competes in the first heat of the 3000m steeplechase semifinal, holding the 35th-fastest time in the country. He held onto the lead pack throughout the race, crossing the line in 10th place for his heat and 21st overall.
Bianchi closes out his career at Boston College with a school record in the 3000m steeplechase, breaking Bill Norris' 50-year record, and earning All-ACC Second Team honors at the 2026 ACC Outdoor Championships. He also added top-10 program marks in the 1500m, Mile, 3000m, and Distance Medley Relay, and is only one of four Eagles to run a sub-four-minute mile.
