Eagles Drop Non-Conference Match to Siena

NEWTON, Mass. – The Boston College men's soccer team suffered its first defeat of the 2025 campaign, falling to Siena by a score of 3-1 on Monday evening at the Newton Soccer Complex. Russell Brown scored his first goal as an Eagle, while Jack Burkhardt picked up his first point of the year with an assist on the goal. Andrej Borak made four saves in net.
BC falls to 1-1-0 on the season, while Siena improves to 1-1-0.
Brown opened the scoring in the ninth minute of play. Burkhardt played a long pass over the Siena midfield and defense, finding Brown in stride. Brown struck the ball out of the air back towards the far post and over the goalkeeper into the back of the net for his first goal of the season.
Siena tied the game minutes later when Campbell Stalker followed up on a rebound to tap home from close range.
The Saints took the lead in the 66th minute when Lee Mara scored from inside the box. Martin Piedeleu hit an in-swinging cross from the left flank to the back post to Benjamin Fogarty, who headed the ball back across the front of goal for Mara.
Siena added to their total shortly after when Stalker scored his second goal of the match.
The Eagles generated several shots over the final 15 minutes to try to cut into the deficit, but the efforts were thwarted by the Siena defense.
Boston College hits the road for the first time this season when they travel to Providence on Friday evening. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
