
Lacrosse Cruises Past Boston University

BOSTON - Boston College lacrosse continued its early dominance to start the season with a 21-6 win over Boston University on Sunday afternoon at Nickerson Field.
The Eagles win a 15th straight game in the series while improving to 2-0. BU falls to 0-1.
BC showcased balance on both sides of the field, where 10 players scored, six tallied multiple goals and six registered at least three points.
Rachel Clark (five goals) and Mckenna Davis (3 goals, 2 assists) netted five points. Molly Driscoll carded a personal best with five points (3 goals, 2 assists) as well.
Emma LoPinto dished out three assists with one goal, equaling four points. Mia Mascone came away with four points thanks to a pair of goals and assists.
Abbey Herod dominated the draw circle with a career-high 10 draw controls and an assist. Shea Baker totaled three caused turnovers in the win with five draw controls.
BC broke a 2-2 tie early in the contest with a 5-0 run started by Driscoll scoring consecutive goals. Clark and Maria Themelis combined to score the next three, giving BC a 7-2 lead after the first.
The Eagles kept up their momentum in the second, where six different players scored to head into the half with a 13-5 advantage.
Mia Mascone later in the third period found Kylee Colbert for a score that extended the cushion to 15-5. BC cruised to victory, going up by as much as 15 by the end of the contest after a Giulia Colarusso netter.
BC dominated the draw with a 23-7 showing and tallied 13 ground balls. Shea Dolce made three saves in 45 minutes of action, while Emily English played 15 and stopped one shot.
The Eagles return to action next Saturday against No. 2 Northwestern in a national title rematch in Evanston at 12 p.m.
