December 05, 2025 | Men's Hockey
LOWELL, Mass. – The No. 15/14 Boston College men's hockey team scored in each period en route to a 3-1 victory over UMass Lowell on Friday evening at the Tsongas Center. Jake Sondreal led all players with three points on three assists. Dean Letourneauscored twice for the Eagles along with James Hagens also lighting the lamp. Lukas Gustafsson, Luka Radivojevic, and Will Voteeach registered one assist. Louka Cloutier made 15 saves, including nine in the third, to pick up his ninth win of the season.
Â
Boston College improves to 9-5-1 overall and 6-3-0 in league play while UMass Lowell drops to 6-9-0 overall and 3-4-0 in Hockey East.
Â
The Eagles got on the board late in the opening period with a power play goal from Letourneau. With just a few seconds remaining on the extra man advantage, Sondreal found Vote on the left side, who immediately found Letourneau across the front of goal for the tic-tac-goal to put BC in front before the end of the period.
Â
Cloutier made a huge stop near the midway point of the second period when Mirko Buttazzoni found Lee Parks at the back door, but Parks' effort was thwarted as Cloutier sprawled across the goal to make the glove save and to keep the River Hawks off the board.
Â
BC doubled its lead midway through the middle frame off a one-timer from J. Hagens from the right side. Sondreal won the faceoff in the offensive zone, and Hagens found Gustafsson on the blue line before finding space for himself for a one-timer off a feed from Gustafsson that zipped through the Lowell defense and into the net.
Â
Letourneau added his second power play goal of the night early in the third period after tipping and redirecting a shot by Radivojevic from the point to push the BC lead to three.
Â
UMass Lowell cut into the deficit just a few minutes later when Mirko Buttazzoni followed up on a pad save by Cloutier from close range that went out to the right.
