EAST LANSING, Mich. – The No. 12 Boston College men's hockey team fell to No. 3 Michigan State by a score of 5-2 on Friday evening in an exhibition at Munn Ice Arena.

Alex Pelletier scored two goals for the Eagles while Oscar Hemming and Luka Radivojevic each had two assists. The Eagles finished with 38 shots on goal. Louka Cloutier and Leo Henriquez split time between the pipes, combining to make 26 saves. Henriquez made 17 on the day, including 15 in the third period.

Michigan State jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period off goals from Anthony Romani and Eric Nilson.

Pelletier scored his first goal of the day midway through the second period to cut into the deficit. On the power play, Hemming played the puck towards the net front where Pelletier was waiting and redirected it past the Michigan State goaltender to make it a one-goal game.

After the Spartans tallied twice more to push their lead to three, Pelletier scored on another power play, once again coming from Hemming and Radivojevic. After a shot from Radivojevic went wide and bounced off the boards behind the net, Hemming made a back-handed pass towards the net front to Pelletier, who calmly tucked into the far side of the net for his second goal of the game.

The Eagles pulled Henriquez to try to cut into the deficit, but Michigan State capitalized on the empty net with just under two minutes to go.
