Eagles Open the 2024 Season with a Victory

FORT MYERS, FLA.-- The Eagles defeated FGCU with an 2-0 victory at the FGCU Softball Complex, Thursday night. The Eagles totaled eight hits with one home run en route to its first win of the season.
In the victory against the FGCU Eagles, Boston College got on the board in the top of the third. Nicole Giery hit deep into right field landing her on second. A Hannah Slike home run, took Giery through home plate. The duo were the sole scorers of the night.Â

Pitcher Abby Dunning held FGCU scoreless throughout seven innings, leading the night with a career high 12 strikeouts. Dunning Dished out 137 pitches, allowing only three hits.Â
The Eagles return to action tomorrow at 12:15 p.m. against LIU and tomorrow evening at 5:00 p.m. against FGCU. Â
