
Eagles Head South to Face Jacksonville

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The second-ranked Boston College lacrosse team heads to the Sunshine State to face Jacksonville in the first of a three-game road trip on Sunday at 11 a.m.
About the Eagles
Last Time Out
BC started strong and finished fast in a 15-7 win over No. 23 UAlbany on Wednesday. Rachel Clark didn't disappoint in her first game as an Eagles, as she tied for the team lead with four goals and one point for five points. Kayla Martello put together a second hat trick in as many games with four scores as well. Mckenna Davis led the way with three assists and added a goal for four points. Belle Smith added three points with two helpers, a goal, and three draw controls. Eight Eagles scored for BC, while Emma LoPinto scored twice.

Five Named to Tewaaraton Watch List
The Eagles saw five players make the initial 2024 watch list on Friday, as Belle Smith, Sydney Scales, Rachel Clark, Shea Dolce and Cassidy Weeks were recognized. It's the first time in Dolce and Weeks' careers they were named to the Tewaaraton Watch List.Â
Offensive BalanceÂ
Ten different players have scored this season, while seven have at least three goals. Martello leads the attack with seven goals in two games.Â
Up the Leaderboard
B. Smith and Davis are working their way up the assists leaderboard. Both have 81 for their career and are tied for seventh in school history. Both can move into fifth with four more assists. Davis is first in the ACC and second in the country in helpers.Â
Making Noise
The newcomers for BC have gotten off to solid starts, where LoPinto has six goals and one assist for seven points, while Clark has five points after her first game. Becky Browndorf leads the way with four caused turnovers. Lydia Colasante also had four ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers in two games. Julia Greene. Kylee Colbert and Molly Driscoll also played in both games, with Lacey Downey and Ali Petrone have appeared in one game for the Eagles.Â
Scouting Jacksonville
-Â Jacksonville is 0-2 to start the season after falling to Michigan and most recently Lehigh in a one-score game.Â
-Â JU was picked first in the Atlantic Sun Conference, while four were named to the all-preseason team.Â
-Â Ainsley Scruggs and Mackenzie Boyle each lead the team with two goals apiece.Â
- Scruggs' one assist gives her a team-best three points on the season.
-Â Three different goalies have seen action between the post, while Addy Tysdal has started in both games.Â
-Â Paige Pagano leads the team with a 10.69 goals against average with five saves.Â
Series History
The Eagles are 1-0 against Jacksonville, with the only matchup taking place in 2010. BC won the only contest, 18-6.Â
