Lacrosse Rolls Past Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Boston College lacrosse showcased a dominating performance in a 17-3 win over Jacksonville on Sunday afternoon at Rock Stadium.Â
The Eagles move to 3-0, while the Dolphins fall to 0-3.Â
Rachel Clark led the way with six points thanks to five goals and one assist. She was one of four players with at least four points.Â
Mckenna Davis dished out five assists, while Kayla Martello netted her third hat trick in as many games with four scores. Belle Smith posted her second four-point game of the season with three goals and an assist. She added three draw controls as well.Cassidy Weeks scored twice with three draw controls and a ground ball.Â
Neither team scored until the 6:57 mark when Davis found Clark to give BC a 1-0 lead. The Eagles went into the second period with a 3-0 lead after scoring two more times in less than a minute.
Weeks capped off the 4-0 run in the second before JU got on the board. Martello and Clark scored late in the second to send BC into the half with a 6-1 advantage.Â
The Eagles put three more up on the board to take a 9-1 lead going into the final period. BC's offense exploded in the fourth with eight goals scored by five different players. Clark and Smith scored five of the goals, while Kylee Colbert registered her first collegiate score. Emma LoPinto and Martello scored as well.Â
Shea Dolce made five stops in the cage. Hunter Roman caused three turnovers and led the way with three ground balls. Ryan Smith posted three caused turnovers as well with three draw controls and two GBs.Â
The Eagles continue their road trip in Pennsylvania next week, where they will face Robert Morris on Thursday at 1 p.m.Â
