Eagles Break Two School Records While Competing at the New Balance Collegiate Showdown

Molly Hudson and Damon Frabotta set school records in the Women's Mile and Men's 200 meters
BOSTON, Mass. – Molly Hudson and Damon Frabotta both break school records, while the Boston College Men's and Women's Track and Field teams competed at the New Balance Collegiate Showdown on Saturday at the TRACK at new balance.Â
The Eagles competed at the New Balance Collegiate Showdown against some of the top schools and athletes in the country. Boston College had at least one athlete compete in 10 running events and three field events throughout the meet.
Molly Hudson started off the impressive day for the Eagles by finishing first place overall in the Women's Mile with a time of 4:32.45, giving the junior a new school record in that event. The Eagles also had two athletes break into the top-ten of the school's record book for the Mile, with freshman Natalie Millerova (4:37.95) now being seventh all-time and junior Aoife Dunne (4:41.92) coming in at ninth all-time.Â
Damon Frabotta also achieved a school record, shattering the previous record in the Men's 200m with a time of 21.18. The sophomore continues his impressive season after breaking the Boston College school record in the Men's 300m at the season opening meet in December.Â
The Eagles also had three other athletes crack the school's top-ten list for their prospective events. Junior Eddie Kelly came in fifth place in the Men's 400m with a time of 48.91, which is good for ninth all-time in school history. On the women's side, sophomore Sydney Segalla and Anna Sonsini both are now in the school's top-ten list for the Women's 60m. Segalla finished with a time of 7.79 and is now second all-time, while Sonsini (7.84) is sixth on the schools all-time list.Â
The Men's and Women's relays both shined on the day, giving the Eagles two top-two finishes on the day. The Women's 4x400 relay team of Kyla Krawczyk, Kyla Palmer, Kylee Bernard, and Sydney Segalla placed first overall (3:43.28), while the Men's 4x400 relay team of McQuide, Kravitz, Sigalove, Kelly (3:15.01) placed second.Â
The Eagle had four athletes compete in the field events over the course of the meet. Sophie Albright and Lila Belsher finished tied for third with a mark of 1.60m, 5'3". Morgan Champi competed in the Women's Weight Throw, placing seventh with a score of 14.72m. Erin Finley also placed seventh overall competing in the Women's Shot Put. Finley finished with a score of 8.19m.Â
