Eagles Shine in Busy Weekend

Men's and Women's Track and Field compete at two meets in Boston over Friday and Saturday
BOSTON, Mass. – The Boston College Men's and Women's Track and Field teams shined over a two day weekend while competing at the Riverhawk Invitational at the TRACK at new balance, as well as the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic at the BU Track and Tennis Center on Friday Jan. 26 and Saturday Jan. 27.Â
Riverhawk Invitational
The Eagles started off the busy weekend by competing in three field events on Friday at the Riverhawk Invitational at the TRACK at new balance.Â
Morgan Champi placed 7th out of 31 athletes in the Women's Weight throw. The Freshman finished the day with a score of 15.21m, 49' 11'', which is her personal best. Erin Finley competed in the 60m hurdles, placing 36th overall. The Sophomore crossed the line with a time of 11.28.Â
Boston College had three Eagles compete in the Women's high jump on Friday. Sophie Albright placed 15th overall with a score of 1.58m, 5' 2¼", while Lila Belsher finished 23rd (1.53m, 5' 0¼") and Erin Finley (1.38m, 4' 6¼) came in at 47th overall.Â

BU John Thomas Terrier Classic
Friday (Men)
The Men's team started off the Terrier Classic meet strong for the Eagles, breaking two school records and having two athletes enter the top-10 in school history for their event.Â
Sophomore Damon Frabotta set the tone early, breaking the school's record in the 400m. Frabotta finished with a time of 47.19, which gives him the top spot in Boston College's record book for that event.Â
Steven Jackson followed Frabotta by breaking the school's Men's Mile record that Jackson set at the same track a year ago. Jackson set the record with a time of 3:56.37.Â
The Eagles also had two athletes break into the top-10 in school history in the Men's 200m and the Mile. Freshman Colin Kravitz now sits at No. 6 all-time for BC in the Men's 200m with a time of 22:15, while sophomore Cruz Brown finished with a time of 4:03.83 in the Men's Mile, which is good for No. 4 all-time in school history.Â
The Men's 4x400m Relay shined, finishing first with a time of 3:13.00. The relay team consisting of Max McQuide, Damon Frabotta, Colin Kravitz, and Eddie Kelly placed first out of 28 other relays participating in the event.Â
Saturday (Women)
The Women's team carried over the momentum from day one into Saturday. Boston College Women's Track team broke two school records, and five athletes entered into the top-ten in school history in their events.
Sydney Segalla was the first Eagle to break a school record on day two of the meet. The sophomore Segalla now sits on top of the school's record book for the Women's 200m with a time of 23.86.Â
Molly Hudson was the second and final Eagle on the day to capture a new school record, as she crossed the finish line in the Women's Mile with a time of 4:30.92. The Junior held the previous record time for this event that she set on Jan. 20 at the New Balance Collegiate Showdown.Â
The Eagles had five runners enter in the school's top-10 in their events on Saturday. Freshman Kylee Benard (55.51) now sits at No. 4 in 400m, while senior Kyla Krawczyk (55.95) is No. 7. Yaroslava Yalysovetska and Aoife Dunne both entered the top-10 in school history for the 800m. Yalysovetska now sits at No. 7 with a time of 2:07.34, while Dunne is No. 9 with a time of 2:07.93. Anna Sonsini now sits at No. 9 all-time for Boston College in the 200m, finishing with a time of 25.21.Â
Sophia Schwartz finished in the top-20 of the Women's 60m, finishing 16th overall with a time of 8.19.Â
Sarah Flynn and Molly FitzPatrick both placed in the top-40 in the Women's 3000m. Flynn finished 16th with a time of 9:33.90, while FitzPatrick crossed the finish line in 35th with a time of 9:51.74.
