Lacrosse Throttles Brown in Bounce-Back Victory

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College lacrosse team dominated Brown in a 17-5 victory on Wednesday evening in Fish Field House.
The Eagles bounce back to improve to 4-2, while Brown is 2-2 on the season.
Belle Smith scored a season-high five goals to pace the offense, while four of her scores came in the first half.Â
Smith was one of three Eagles who totaled five points, as Jenn Medjid reached the five-point mark for the third time in five appearances with three goals and two helpers, and Mckenna Davis netted a goal and four assists.Â
Ten Eagles scored in the victory, leading to the Eagles tying a season high in goals.Â
Medjid and Smith scored the first three goals of the contest to give BC a 3-0 lead. Brown tied up the contest by answering with three goals of its own before Smith gave BC a 4-3 edge going into the second.Â
BC flexed its muscle in the second frame with an 8-0 showing to head into the break with a convincing 12-3 advantage. Andrea Reynolds started the run and was one of seven different players who scored in the period.Â
The Eagles scored three more in the third to go up by double digits, pulling away for a ninth straight win in the all-time series.Â
The defense was just as dominant, allowing less than 10 goals for the fourth time this season with 12 caused turnovers.
Sydney Scales led the way with four caused turnovers and five ground balls. Ryan Smith totaled nine draw controls and Reynolds tallied five.Â
Rachel Hall and Shea Dolce played 30 minutes in the net, posting eight saves and a combined .615 save percentage.
BC will play in Alumni Stadium for the first time this season on Saturday morning in an ACC showdown against Louisville at 11 a.m.Â
