February 16, 2023 | Softball
Coming off a 4-1 opening weekend, the Eagles will take on Lipscomb, Middle Tennessee, FAU and FGCU
Last weekend in Tampa, the Eagles took part in the USF Tournament to begin their 2023 season. They defeated Illinois State 4-0 where Sophomore pitcher Abby Dunning threw her first career no hitter.
BC also had two wins against USF, in the first, Senior Abigail Knight hit the game winning three run homer in the seventh inning to give the Eagles a 4-2 lead. In the final game of the weekend on Sunday in what was a rematch of Friday's matchup, it was another down to the wire game but this time all the way to extra innings where Knight was once again the hero, hitting the game clinching double in the ninth inning to bring in two more runs to win the game against the Bulls 5-4.Â
