
Eagles Cruise Past Lipscomb To Begin FGCU Tournament

FORT MYERS, FLA --Â Boston College defeated Lipscomb 13-2 on Friday afternoon to begin their FGCU Tournament stint. The Eagles now improve to 5-1 on the season while Lipscomb moves to 1-3.Â
BC wasted no time getting their bats going in this one, after Lipscomb went up 2-0 in the top of the second, the Eagles responded with an impressive six run inning fueled by some huge at bats from Junior Nicole Giery and Senior Abigail Knight. Knight who has started off this season red hot at the plate, cranked a three run shot in that aforementioned six run second inning, to go along with her third homer of the season she recorded three hits, five RBI, and two runs scored in just four at bats.Â
In the third inning, BC continued the offensive onslaught, recording seven runs to add to their score. Sophomore's Kali Case and Zoe Hines each brought in runs as did Junior Elisabeth Laviolette.Â
Halie Pappion got the win on the mound for Boston College, she came in for Graduate Susannah Anderson and recorded three strikeouts in six total at bats.Â
BC Softball will be back in action later tonight at 7:30 for a game against Middle Tennessee.Â
