Fencing Set to Compete at the Brandeis Invitational

Eagles compete in Brandeis Invitational before break
WALTHAM, Mass. – The Boston College Fencing is set to compete in the Brandeis Invitational on Sunday morning in Waltham, Mass. at the Red Auerbach Arena.Â
LAST TIME OUT
The Eagles hosted the Northeast Fencing Conference Championships at the Margot Connell Recreation Center on Nov. 19.Â
Boston College hosted Brandeis, Brown, MIT, Sacred Heart, Tufts, Vassar, Wellesley, and Wagner. The meet consisted of nine rounds, with each team having a bye in one of those rounds. Boston College's Men's team only competed in six rounds due to Wellesley and Tufts not having Men's programs.Â

BRANDEIS INVITATIONALÂ Â
The Eagles will travel to Brandeis to compete in the Brandeis Invitational. Boston College will be joined by Brandeis, Drew, Lawrence, Cornell, Brown, MIT, Wellesley College, Yale, Yeshiva, St. John's, Tufts, and LIU. The meet will start at 9 a.m, and it will consist of eights rounds and five pods. The Men will fence against Lawrence, Drew, Yale, and St. John's, while the Women will fence against Lawrence, Drew, Cornell, and St. John's. Â
The schedule for the Eagles will be as follows:
Round 1 - Bye
Round 2 - BC vs. Drew University
Round 3 - Bye
Round 4 - BC vs. LawrenceÂ
Round 5 - BC vs. LIUÂ
Round 6 - BC vs. CornellÂ
Round 7 - BC vs Yale (Men's), Women have bye
Round 8 - BC vs. St. John'sÂ

- The Women's team finished the meet with an overall record of 6-2 with wins against Brandeis, Vassar, Wagner, Wellesley, Tufts, and Sacred Heart.
- Women's Foil finished with a 7-1 record and Women's Sabre finished 6-2, while Women's Epee was 5-3 on the day.
- The Men's team completed the meet with a final record of 5-1, only losing to MIT in round 3.
- Men's Sabre carried the way, finishing with a record of 5-1. Men's Epee went 4-2, while Men's Foil ended the six rounds with a 3-3 record.
