Fencing Opens Men's NCAA Competition

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The NCAA Men's Fencing tournament began today, with Boston College having Ivan Goriunov, Elijah Onik, Yikai Lu, and Luca Berman all competing. Goriunov began the epee competition with the first three rounds. He sits in 17th, having won five of his 15 matches on the day. Elijah Onik and Yikai Lu are 22nd and 23rd after the first day, having won four matches each. Luca Berman is 14th and won six matches on the day.
They will compete in the final rounds tomorrow morning, beginning at 9:00 a.m., and will advance to the semifinals if they reach the top four.
