Five Eagles Prepare for NCAA Championships

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Luca Berman, Lydia Johnson, Ivan Goriunov, Elijah Onik, and Yikai Lu will represent Boston College at the 2026 NCAA DI Fencing Championships, which will be held March 19-22 in South Bend, Ind., on the campus of Notre Dame.
The NCAA Fencing Championships are set to take place March 19-22 in South Bend, Ind., at the Purcell Pavilion. On Tuesday, March 10th, the NCAA Men's and Women's Fencing Committee announced the field of 144 competitors for the 2026 National Collegiate Men's and Women's Fencing Championships. Thirty-three member institutions will be represented at this year's fencing championships.
Luca Berman, Lydia Johnson, Ivan Goriunov, Elijah Onik, and Yikai Lu will be representing the Eagles. Johnson will begin the round robin rounds at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday with rounds 1-3. He will then finish the round robin competition with rounds 4-5 on Friday at 9 a.m. Eastern Time. If Johnson advances to the Semifinal bouts, she will compete at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time, with the potential to reach the finals.
Semifinal and Championship Bouts will be available to stream live on ESPN+ on Friday and Sunday, starting at 1:30 p.m.
The men's competition will commence on Saturday with Goriunov beginning the competition at 9:00 a.m. in the epee. Onik and Lu will start the foil at 11:00 a.m., with Berman the last to start in saber at 1:00 p.m. They will follow the same schedule as Johnson, with rounds 1-3 on Saturday and the final rounds, semifinals, and finals on Sunday.
