No. 7 Duke Holds Off Boston College 1-0 in Durham

DURHAM, N.C. – Seventh-ranked Duke scored early in the second half and held off Boston College for a 1-0 ACC victory on Saturday night at Koskinen Stadium.
The Eagles dropped to 2-3-3 (0-2-1 ACC) while the Blue Devils remained unbeaten at 6-0-1 (2-0-1 ACC).
Following a scoreless first half, Leon Musial made a point-blank save on Amir Daley early in the second half to force a Duke corner and keep the game scoreless.
Minutes later, Ruben Mesalles connected on a half-volley from the left wing and found the bottom right corner to give the Blue Devils a 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute.
Co-captain Amos Shapiro-Thompson nearly brought BC level in the 69th minute, but his long range effort went inches wide of the left post.
The Eagles pressed for an equalizer in the final 20 minutes, including several dangerous services from Tyshawn Rose on the left wing, but couldn't draw level.
Duke closed the night with a 13-6 advantage in shots.
Boston College returns to the road next Friday night when it faces Notre Dame in South Bend on ACC Network at 6 p.m.
