NEWTON, Mass. – Boston College (5-3-2, 1-3-1 ACC) fell to North Carolina (5-2-3, 1-1-2 ACC), 3-1, on Saturday afternoon at Newton Soccer Field.

Russell Brown scored his fifth goal of the year off Andres Siso's first career assist. Andrej Borak had five saves for a fifth straight match.

The Tar Heels opened the scoring in the third minute when they converted a fast-break opportunity.

Brown equalized in the 20th minute when he and Siso combined for a close-range finish.

UNC retook the lead for good two minutes later when they broke on the counter quickly after forcing a change in possession.

The Tar Heels doubled their advantage in the 58th minute when a bouncing ball was knocked in off a UNC corner.

North Carolina led in both corners (6-0) and shots on goal (8-4).

Boston College is back in action on Friday night when they host Wake Forest. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
