Eagles Host Clemson on Senior Day Saturday

BOSTON COLLEGE VS. CLEMSON - ALL-TIME SERIES

Today's game marks the 28th meeting between the two schools. BC is 8-19 all-time against Clemson, dating back to 1975-76.
In ACC regular season play, BC is 7-13 against Clemson.
In the first meeting of the season on Jan. 15, Boston College erased a 23-point deficit to earn a 70-68 win at Clemson.
The 23-point comeback tied for the biggest in ACC history. It is also the largest comeback in Division I in 2021-22.
The win also snapped a nine-game slide against the Tigers, dating back to Jan. 4, 2014.
BC and Clemson did not meet in in 2020-21 due to COVID-19.
Head coach Earl Grant was an assistant at Clemson from 2010-14, helping guide the Tigers to an NCAA Tournament and a trip to the NIT.
Assistant coach Anthony Goins was on Brad Brownell's staff the previous two seasons, including a trip to the 2021 NCAA Tourney.
Brevin Galloway's younger brother Braden was a member of Clemson's football team, starring as a tight end.

SENIOR DAY CELEBRATION

Prior to this afternoon's game, Boston College will honor its Men's Basketball Class of 2022.
Manager Will Wiegman, along with players Brevin Galloway, James Karnik, and Makai Ashton-Langford will be recognized prior to the ballgame, celebrating their accomplishments as their finish their respective careers on the Heights.

With a win today, Boston College would have its first win streak (at least three wins) in ACC play since the 2014-15 season.
That year, the Eagles won their final three ACC games - at home vs. N.C. State, at Virginia Tech, and home vs. Wake Forest.
The Jan. 15 win at Clemson earlier this season ended a nine-game losing streak vs. the Tigers.
Boston College has not beaten Clemson at Conte Forum since Feb. 2, 2013 - four consecutive home losses to the Tigers.

Jaeden Zackery is tied for the fourth-most steals in a season by a Boston College freshman.
Zackery currently has 47 steals on the season, tying him for fourth overall in the ACC and 12th nationally among frosh.
Dana Barros holds BCs freshman single-season mark - 57 - set during the 1985-96 season.
Ryan Sidney (56, 2000-01), Duane Woodward (55, 1994-95), and Troy Bell (47, 1999-00) round out the top five.

POST PRESENCE AT N.C. STATE

Quinten Post made 9-of-10 shots from the floor at N.C. State, finishing with 18 points.
Over the last 25 years, only four BC players have shot 90% or better from the floor, with a minimum of 10 field goals attempted .
The last Eagle to do so was Ryan Anderson (11-12) against Harvard on Dec. 4, 2012.
Corey Raji (12-12) vs. Maine on Dec. 23, 2008 and Craig Smith (10-10) vs. St. Bonaventure on Dec. 4, 2002 did not miss.

ZACKERY IN RARE ACC COMPANY

Jaeden Zackery posted a complete stat line vs. Florida State.
He had 18 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and five steals while committing one turnover in 35 minutes of play.
Zackery's rebounds, assists, and steals totals were all season-highs.
Over the last 25 seasons, only one other player posted that stat line or better in an ACC game.
Georgia Tech's Iman Shumpert did so against Virginia Tech on Jan. 25, 2011 (22 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists, 7 steals).

BACK-TO-BACK DOUBLE-DOUBLES FOR CAPTAIN CANADA

James Karnik registered consecutive double-doubles in ACC play - the first BC player to do so in two years,.
He logged 16 points and 11 rebounds against Florida State and also had 11 points and 11 rebounds at Syracuse.
The senior narrowly missed a third straight - registering 11 points and nine boards at N.C. State.
Karnik has four double-doubles on the season 16 in his college career.
Prior to Karnik, the last BC player to register a double-double in consecutive games was Steffon Mitchell.
The recent BC grad did so on Feb. 26, 2020 vs. Notre Dame (12p/11r) and on March 3, 2020 against Syracuse (11r/10a).
Mitchell was also the last BC player to log two straight double-doubles in points and rebounds, on Dec. 10 & 15, 2019.

MAKING THEIR POINT

Over the last six games, Boston College's primary playmakers have been highly efficient.
In addition to scoring 14.0 points per game, Jaeden Zackery has registered 25 assists to seven turnovers (3.57:1 Assist/TO).
The freshman has also notched 19 steals over the last four ballgames (2.71:1 Steal/TO).
Makai Ashton-Langford has dished out 32 assists to 13 turnovers (2.46:1 ATR), while logging 12 steals (0.92:1 Steal/TO).
Ashton-Langford registered new career-highs in assists (9) and steals (4) against Florida State.
On the season, both Zackery and Ashton-Langford rank among the top 25 in the ACC in assist/TO and steal/TO ratios.

DEMARR TRENDING

Over his last seven games, DeMarr Langford Jr. is averaging 14.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists.
He's shooting nearly 56% (40-72) from the floor over the span, while registering an assist/turnover ratio of 1.63:1.
Returning from injury at N.C. State, Langford Jr. posted a full stat line - nine points, five bosrds, three assists, and four steals.
On Feb. 16 at Notre Dame, Langford Jr. scored a career-high 23 points (10-14) to go with seven rebounds.
The 6-5 guard had 16 points against #7/7 Duke - 10 coming in the second half
On Feb. 8, Langford Jr. had 14 points (6-9 FG) and six rebounds at home against Syracuse.
The sophomore had his second-best scoring night of the season against Pitt on Jan. 30, pouring in 17 points.
Langford Jr. added 11 points and five boards at Virginia on Feb. 1.
He scored 10 points on five shots in 16 first half minutes at Syracuse before leaving the game with an injury.
The Worcester wing ranks second on BC in scoring (11.3), fourth in rebounding (4.4), and third in assists (2.1).

KARNIK THE CATALYST

In six ACC wins, James Karnik is averaging 14.5 points and 8.2 rebounds while shooting 70% (37-53) from the floor.
In 11 ACC losses, Karnik is posting 8.1 points and 4.8 boards per outing, making 44.0% (37-84) of his FG attempts.
When Karnik scores 16 or more points, Boston College is 4-2 - all of those games have come in ACC play.
When Karnik scores at least in double figures, BC is 6-5 - including a 5-4 record in conference games.
Karnik is scoring 15.7 points per game and shooting 64.6% (73-113) when he reaches double digits in the scoring column.

ZACKERY MAKING AN IMPACT

Jaeden Zackery ranks third on BC in scoring (10.1), second in assists (2.7), and first in steals (1.7) this season.
Among all ACC first-year players, Zackery ranks sixth in scoring, third in assists, and first in steals.
With 47 steals, Jaeden Zackery is tied for the fourth-most swipes in a season by a Boston College freshman.
He has reached double-digits 13 times and has led the Eagles in scoring on six occasions.
Against Syracuse on Feb. 8, he had a team-high 18 points with season-bests in rebounds (6), assists (6), and steals (3).
Since 1996, 10 BC players matched Zackery's stat line vs. Syracuse - 18 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals
They are: Ryan Sidney (three times), Ky Bowman (twice), Troy Bell (twice), Tyrese Rice, and Troy Bell.
However, Zackery is the ONLY Boston College player to register that stat line without commiting a turnover.
The Salem, Wisc. product has registered an effective FG% of 54.9% and a true shooting percentage of 56.8% in 27 games.
Zackery is connecting on nearly 47% of his 3-point attempts on the season, knocking down 40-of-86.
He was named to the Sunshine Slam All-Tourney team, after scoring a season-high 19 points against Rhode Island.
Earlier this season, he became the first BC freshman to dish out at least six assists in consecutive games in nearly a decade.
Zackery was a 2020-21 NJCAA Third Team All-American out of Chipola College in Florida.
