Boston College and Providence Meet in Hockey East Home-and-Home

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Tied for fourth in the Hockey East standings, Boston College and 18th-ranked Providence open a home-and-home series on Friday night at Kelley Rink at 7 p.m. The schools close the series on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. on NESN at Schneider Arena. Both games can be heard on WEEI 850 AM and BCEagles.com.Â
SETTING THE SCENE
• The Eagles enter the matchup at 10-9-3 overall and 5-6-2 in league play, while the Friars come in at 15-9-1 (6-7-0 HEA)
• Both clubs have a game in hand on Boston University, which is also tied for fourth
• Following a six-game unbeaten streak to close 2021, BC has lost its first four games of 2022
• Boston College is playing the fourth contest in a stretch of five games in nine days
• The Eagles fell 8-2 to No. 13 Notre Dame on Wednesday night in South Bend

• Boston College leads the all-time series with Providence 120-53-14 entering the 188th meeting in series history on Friday night

• Marc McLaughlin (first, 17), Jack McBain (third, 13) and Patrick Giles (12th, 9) all rank top-15 in Hockey East in goals per game with 39 goals combined
• Overall, 44 of the team's 74 goals this season have been scored by seniors (60%)
• Jack St. Ivany is second among all Hockey East defensemen in points per game and is tied for third overall among all skaters with a +14 rating
• Forward Casey Carreau has collected his first six points (2-4-6) in his last 10 games
