Team Effort Leads No. 5 BC Over No. 4 ND

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – It took an entire team effort for the No. 5 Boston College lacrosse team to defeat No. 4 Notre Dame, 19-11, on Thursday, April 15 in Alumni Stadium.

Goalie Rachel Hall had a season-high 11 saves in goal, while BC had four players with at least four goals.

Freshman Belle Smith led the way with six points, scoring four goals and adding two assists, while Caitylnn Mossman (1G, 4A) and Charlotte North (4G, 1A) each had five points. Courtney Weeks and Jenn Medjid both had hat trick on the day.

BC had 20 draw controls on the day, led by North's 11, and five caused turnovers. The draw trio of North, Cara Urbank (5) and Hollie Schleicher (4) dominated the day. Schleicher and Urbank both added caused turnovers as well.

In a game where BC never trailed, the Eagles jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first 12 minutes of the game and held Notre Dame scoreless through the first 17 minutes.

BC had two runs of five-plus goals. The first to open the game and the second starting with 45 seconds left in the first half and going until the 22:49 mark of the second half.

The Eagles' largest lead was 10 goals, coming at 16-6, 17-7 and 18-8.

BC is back in action on Saturday, April 17 inside Alumni Stadium at 11 a.m. for the second game of the weekend series against Notre Dame. The seniors will be honored postgame and the game will be shown on ACCNX.

- Charlotte North had five points (4G, 1A) giving her 51 goals and seven assists on the year. She also added 11 draw controls for 100 on the season.
- Jenn Medjid continued to be a scoring threat, scoring her fifth hat trick of the year. She now has multiple goals in every game this season and 35 total goals.
- Caitlynn Mossman continues her breakout junior campaign with four assists today. She now has 25 on the year and leads BC.
- Rachel Hall made a season-high 11 saves. She moves to 10-1 on the year.
