The Boston College women’s soccer team fell to Virginia Tech on Sunday afternoon, 3-0, at the Newton Campus Soccer Field.
NEWTON, Mass. – The Boston College women's soccer team fell to Virginia Tech on Sunday afternoon, 3-0, at the Newton Campus Soccer Field.
After a scoreless first half, the Hokies struck twice five minutes apart to take a 2-0 lead by the 66th minute. The visitors then added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute to quell the BC comeback.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 61' | Grace Sklopan got the ball in the middle of the field and carried it to the left wing, getting past two defenders before centering a ball from the edge of the box. Emma Steigerwald was able to put the clearing attempt to the far-right post.
- 66' | After a centering pass was deflected, Tori Powell took a point-blank shot that Allie Augur saved but the loose ball fell to Emily Gray at the six for a finish.
- 83' | Molly Feighan picked off a ball about 25 yards out, took a touch and then curled a shot from 18 yards out to the far post.
GAME NOTES
- Virginia Tech had a 12-7 lead in shots … the teams were equal in corner kicks at 3-3.
- Goalkeeper Allie Augur finished with four saves for the Eagles … Alia Skinner made two saves for the Hokies.
- The Eagles are now 8-6-3 in the all-time series with the Hokies with a mark of 4-4-1 at home.
- Sam Smith and Jenna Bike led the Eagles with two shots apiece.
- This marks the end of the eight-game fall ACC schedule for the Eagles.
- Samantha Agresti and Michela Agresti both finish the eight-game slate having played all 725 minutes for the Eagles.
