Eagles Compete at the UNF Spring Break Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Boston College opened up the 2019 outdoor season on Friday night at the UNF Spring Break Invitational, held at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.
Four Eagles competed in the invitational field of the 1,500m run. Sean Sullivan was seventh overall, crossing the line in 3:54.15. Russell Wells clocked 3:57.68, good for 12th place, while Alexander Horgan ran 3:59.76, finishing 19th. Colin Trigani was 22nd (4:02.78).
Zach Beston and Ben Ruffing finished 1-2 in the 1,500m run. Beston crossed the line in 3:59.47, followed by Ruffing in 3:59.58. Kyle Faddis was sixth (4:01.85), followed by Will Peters in eighth (4:03.94), and Gordon Pollock in 11th (4:07.46).
Ian Ritchie was third in the 800m run, recording a time of 1:53.19. Erik Linden was 12th (1:56.34), while Michael Hains was 15th (1:56.81). Sean Conboy (17th, 1:57.45) and Andrew Willis (35th, 2:02.86) rounded out the BC contingent in the event.
Marcus Manson was the top BC finisher in the 400m, clocking a 49.25 - good for 21st place. Four other Eagles cracked 51 seconds - Khalfani Green (50.06), Max Herrerias (50.27), Stephen Windisch (50.58), and Matt Morano (50.63).
Avery McKenzie was sixth in the triple jump. His best mark of the day came on his first attempt - a leap of 44'10.25" (13.67m).
