No. 1 Eagles Stay Perfect With Statement Win Over UMass

AMHERST, MASS. – The No. 1 Boston College lacrosse team topped Massachusetts, 25-14, Thursday afternoon in Amherst. BC was led by eight different Eagles who recorded at least two goals. Freshman Jenn Medjid notched her first career goal and followed up with two more, securing her first career hat trick.
The Eagles held the lead throughout the contest, headed by a goal from senior Taylor Walker just 45 seconds into the game. Kenzie Kent found her second hat trick of the season in the opening frame, as the first half was highlighted by six different Eagles registering at least two goals: Kent, Walker, Sam Apuzzo, Dempsey Arsenault, Sheila Rietano and Jordan Lappin each got past UMass goalkeeper Gina Carroll more than once.
The Eagles combined for 10 goals in the second half, increasing the lead to allow the clock to run with 17:24 remaining in the contest. Sophomore Abbey Ngai relieved senior Lauren Daly in goal after BC secured their 24th goal. UMass goalkeeper Gina Carroll recorded 14 saves but couldn't stop the BC offense as the Eagles conserved their perfect record.
