Eagles Top Bryant on the Road

The swim and dive team topped Bryant on their first road trip of the season
SMITHFIELD, R.I. --Â The Boston College swim and dive team took their second straight overall win this weekend as both the men's and women's teams topped Bryant on the road. The women won with 194 total points to Bryant's 106 while the men combined for 177 to Bryant's 121.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Freshmen Lindsey Ryalls and Nicole Barkemeyer were amongst the multi-event winners, with Ryalls taking first in the 1000 freestyle (10:33.57) and 500 freestyle (5:08.93) while Barkemeyer finished in the top spot of the 100 backstroke (58.19) and 200 backstroke (2:04.44).Â
- Three Eagles took the sweep of the top three finishes in the 200 butterfly: Victoria Lin (2:07.89), Isabel Blaze (2:10.70) and Mary Kate Gannon (2:11.65).Â
- Dolan also finished first in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.02 while Gannon (58.10) and Lin (58.18) placed first and second in the 100 butterfly.
- Ellie Uhl (244.20 points) and Mackenna Buchanan (241.50 points) took the top two spots in the one-meter dive.Â
- Alexa Lantin (2:23.63) and Anna Milia (2:25.51) earned first and second place, respectively, in the 200 breaststroke.
- The team of Ashleigh Scott, Ali Kea, Lauren Quinn and Sofia Zinis claimed the Bryant pool record in the 400 freestyle relay with a combined finish of 3:32.15.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Newcomers Zachary Szmania (1000 freestyle, 500 freestyle), Matt Szekely (100 butterfly, 200 freestyle) and Dale Nickerson (one- and three-meter dives) were each multi-event winners.
- Damion Geoghegan Ribeiro placed first in the 50 freestyle, finishing in 21.64.
- Michael Hinton earned the top spot in the 100 freestyle with a time of 47.84.
- The team of Hinton, Zander Santana, Sam Roche and Max Threlkeld combined for a first-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay with a final time of 3:08.98.
