BC HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- Boston College improved to 3-2 overall on the season when they defeated Massachusetts in a non-conference game Wednesday afternoon at the Newton Campus Lacrosse Field. The midweek game was the team's home opener and following the win, the Eagles have now won the last eight home openers and are 16-9 in home openers.
- The maroon and gold extended their record over Massachusetts to 7-4 and snapped a two-game skid against the Minutewomen that dated back to 2007.Â
- After career highs in both saves and save percentage against Louisville this past weekend, junior goalkeeper Zoe Ochoa moved into ninth place all-time in the program's career saves record with her 169th career save, which she tallied in the second half against UMass this afternoon. With the feat, she surpassed Valerie Leuchs' record of 168 career saves, which was set during the 1999-00 seasons. She will now have her eyes set on the eighth place spot in the record book, which is held by Rachel Zeller's 218 career saves between 2001 and 2002.Â
- On her first of three assists today, senior Sarah Mannelly moved into sole possession of fifth place in BC's career assists record with her 51st tally. Entering the game, the New Canaan, Conn. native was tied with former Eagle Kristin Igoe, who registered 50 career assists from 2008-12.
- The Eagles earned their 199th program win dating back to 1992, the first year as a varsity sport. They will seek win number 200 this Saturday against Navy.
- Sarah Mannelly had a game-high six points to lead the Eagles to victory. Her three goals matched a season high while her three assists were a new season high for the Tewaaraton Award Watch List Member.Â
