EAGLES TAKE ON #3 CLEMSON IN ACC CHAMPIONSHIP SEMIFINALS
• Boston College will travel to South Carolina to face #3 Clemson in the semifinals of the 2016 ACC Championship on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
• The Eagles (8-7-3) beat #4 North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Sunday in the quarterfinals. BC tied #23 Virginia Tech in the first round, 2-2, and advanced by winning the penalty kick shootout, 4-3.
• Clemson (11-2-5) earned a first-round bye and tied Syracuse on Sunday, 1-1, at Historic Riggs Field. The Tigers advanced on penalty kicks, 4-2.
• Clemson owns a 7-3-5 record in the all-time series.
• BC is 0-6-2 all-time at Historic Riggs Field.
LEWIS SCORES IN 1-0 WIN AT #4 NORTH CAROLINA
• Senior Zeiko Lewis scored the lone goal of the match in the 58th minute to lead Boston College to a 1-0 win on Sunday at #4 North Carolina.
• He has scored all three Boston College goals in the ACC Championship.
• Sophomore Cedric Saladin made seven saves in goal, including five in the first half.
• North Carolina had an 8-2 advantage in shots in the first half.
• The Tar Heels took the first four shots of the match and Saladin was forced to make a pair of saves in the first 24 minutes.
• Saladin made five overall in the first half while the BC offense did not have a shot on net.
• After Saladin made a save on a Nils Bruenig shot in the 58th minute, yellow cards were assessed to both Saladin and UNC's Andy Lopez.
• Lewis found the net 15 seconds after the cards were issued to give the Eagles the 1-0 lead.
• North Carolina took the final four shots of the match but could not find the equalizer. Saladin's last save came in the 69th minute.
LEWIS LAST WEEK
• Senior Zeiko Lewis scored all three Boston College goals in the first two rounds of the ACC Championship.
• Both of his goals in the 2-2 tie against #23 Virginia Tech were equalizers as the Eagles played from behind.
• Lewis got his first strike in the 56th minute when senior Isaac Normesinu went on a break from the defensive end. He sent a nice through ball to Lewis who finished it to tie the match.
• A minute after the Hokies took a 2-1 lead in the 85th minute, sophomore Simon Enstrom handled the ball on the right baseline. He found Lewis who was open in the box and he found the left side netting to tie it again.
• Lewis also connected on his penalty kick as the Eagles won the shootout, 4-3.
• The Pembroke, Bermuda product then notched the lone goal at #4 North Carolina in the 58th minute.
• Lewis earned Player of the Week honors from TopDrawerSoccer and was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week.
• Lewis had scored three goals in 16 regular season matches and had not scored a goal since September 30.
LEWIS, LEHMANN EARN ALL-ACC HONORS
• Senior Zeiko Lewis was named to the All-ACC First Team while rookie Lasse Lehmann was selected to the All-ACC Freshmen Team, as voted on by the conference's 12 head coaches.
• Lewis has earned All-ACC accolades all four seasons at Boston College. He has been a three-time All-ACC Second Team member while also winning ACC Freshman of the Year honors in 2013.
• This season, Lewis leads Boston College with five assists and 17 points, and is second with six goals. He ranks sixth in the ACC in points, seventh in assists and ninth in goals. Lewis has had a pair of two-goal games against Albany and No. 23 Virginia Tech. The Pembroke, Bermuda, product exploded in the two ACC Championship games last week, scoring all three of Boston College's goals.
• Lehmann has been a steadying presence in the central midfield in his first season, appearing in 16 matches with 14 starts. The Munich, Germany, product has registered an 85 percent pass completion rate in his rookie season. He also averaged 23 challenges won, five interceptions and six tackles per 90 minutes.
LAST TIME vs. CLEMSON
• Boston College and #3 Clemson played to a scoreless draw on October 14 in Newton.
• The Eagles nearly scored in the third minute when senior Zeiko Lewis led sophomore Trevor Davock beautifully down the left side. Davock's shot beat the keeper, but didn't curl in enough as it hit the left post and stayed out.
• One of Clemson's best opportunities came with 25 minutes left in the first half. Michael Swift came off the bench and received a pass near the top of the box. He took a couple of touches and fired a shot, but it was right at sophomore Cedric Saladin who made the save.
• Davock came close again with 17 minutes remaining when he took a shot from 16 yards out. The ball hit a Clemson defender and then just skipped wide of the left post.
• The chances were scarce in the second half as both sides took just three shots. Clemson's Diego Campos was open on the left side of the box but at a tough angle, and his shot sailed wide of the far post with 16 minutes left.
• Sophomore Simon Enstrom made a nice run down the right side of the box and fired a shot, but the Clemson keeper made a diving save with just nine minutes showing on the clock.
• Neither team took a shot in the two 10-minute overtime periods.
BC IN THE ACC TOURNAMENT
• Boston College is 9-8-2 all-time in the ACC Tournament and 1-1-1 against Clemson, including a 3-0 loss last season in South Carolina.
• The Eagles have advanced to the semifinal round in six of the last nine ACC Championships they have qualified for.
• BC captured its first ACC Championship title in 2007 after earning the regular-season crown as well. It advanced to the title game in 2011 after winning at second-seeded Maryland and then beating third-seeded Duke.
