Eagles Host NC State Saturday On Senior Night

BC-Wolfpack kick off at 6 p.m. in Newton
EAGLES HOST NC STATE ON SENIOR NIGHT
• Boston College will host NC State on Saturday night at 6 p.m. in the final regular season match of the 2016 season.
• The Eagles (6-7-2, 2-3-2 ACC) are winless in their last five matches, losing at #2 Wake Forest last weekend and falling in overtime to #19 UMass Lowell on Tuesday afternoon.
• NC State (5-10-0, 1-6-0 ACC) has won two of its last three outings but lost to Louisville last weekend, 3-0. Its lone conference win came against Pittsburgh on October 15.
• Boston College owns a 6-5-2 record in the all-time series with the Wolfpack but lost last season in Raleigh in double overtime, 2-1.Â
• BC will recognize its four seniors - Maximilian Schulze-Geisthovel, Ado Kawuba, Isaac Normesinu and Zeiko Lewis - prior to the match.
LAST TIME vs. NC STATE
• NC State's Caleb Duvernay found the back of the net in the 109th minute in double overtime after a Simon Blotko cross to give the Wolfpack a 2-1 comeback win on September 11, 2015 in Raleigh.
• Trevor Davock tallied his second goal of the season to give BC a 1-0 lead in the 52nd minute.
• Zeiko Lewis assisted on the strike and it was his second helper of the year.
• Cedric Saladin made five saves in goal.
• NC State controlled the pace for much of the first half and had a couple of quality chances. Duvernay sent a cross into the box 24 minutes into the match and Zach Knudson took a shot from point-blank range, but Saladin made the save.
• After the Wolfpack had a goal called back due to a foul, Yanni Hachem had a scoring chance with six minutes left after a nice chest pass from Ade Taiwo. Saladin was there again to thwart the attack.
• It was Boston College who converted on its first quality chance in the 52nd minute. Simon Enstrom sent a cross into the box from the left side. Davock redirected it towards goal and it was deflected right to Lewis, who passed it back to Davock for the goal.
• The Wolfpack equalized the match in the 67th minute after Duvernay sent a cross into the box. Philip Carmon got a head on it and then Taiwo finished it from close range to tie the game.
• In the first overtime period, Enstrom had the best scoring chance in the fourth minute when he handled the ball on the right side. He turned and fired at goal, but the NC State keeper made a nice save.
• NC State tallied the win in 109th minute when Blotko sent a low cross into the box from the right side. Duvernay was open by himself in the box and he found the back of the net to end the match.
BC FALLS IN OVERTIME TO #19 UMASS LOWELL
• Senior Maximilian Schulze-Geisthovel scored his seventh goal of the season but #19 UMass Lowell scored three unanswered goals late in the match to take a 3-2 overtime win on Tuesday.
• Freshman Callum Johnson scored his second goal of the season in the 38th minute of play.
• The Eagles scored first when Mohammed Moro placed a cross into the box and Schulze-Geisthovel rose above the Lowell defenders to head the ball into the far post for a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute.
• Johnson scored in the 38th minute from 22 yards out. Johnson one-timed a ball that a Lowell defender attempted to clear out of the box. It was his second goal of the season.
• Wuilito Fernandes cut into the BC lead with 17 minutes to play as he one-timed a pass from Dario Jovanovski.
• Lowell tied the game with eight minutes to play on a goal by Ivan Abramovic in a scramble in front of the goal.
• With 58 seconds to play in the first overtime, Abramovic scored the game-winner off a deflection in front of the BC goal.
