HOMESTEAD, Fla. - Boston College defeated Yale University 12-6 Wednesday March 7 in Homestead, Fla. The win improved the Eagles to 5-5 on the season.
Eight of nine BC starters notched at least one hit while four batters had a multiple-hit outing. Brian Macchi led the charge with his 2-for-3, three-RBI outing. Senior outfielder Jarett Mendoza also had three RBIs. Chris Rosado went 3-for-4 to drive in two runs, and Ryan Leahy was 3-for-5 with three runs scored. Joe Kealty's two RBIs on the day gave him a team-high 11 RBIs for the season.
Erik Olson allowed four runs - three earned - in 5.0 innings for the win. He allowed eight hits and struck out three. In 2.0 innings, James Dawson allowed two runs on two hits. Mark Sullivan retired two hitters on strikeouts in his 1.0 inning stint.
BC faces Monmouth March 9 at Florida Atlantic's secondary field. Game time is 2 p.m.
