Bianchi Breaks 50 Year Record at Duke Twilight

Owen Pett, Cruz Brown and Bianchi all set ACC qualifying standards
DURHAM, N.C. – Boston College Men's Track and Field completed its outdoor regular season Sunday at the Duke Twilight, hosted at Morris Williams Stadium. Mateo Bianchi highlighted the event by breaking a school record that stood for more than 50 years.

Next Up: The Eagles look to build on this momentum as they head into the ACC Championships, taking place in Louisville from May 14-16.

- Cruz Brown and Owen Pett logged personal bests in the 800m. Cruz took 13th place in 1:49.50, with Pett finishing right behind at 1:49.57.
- Colin Peattie logged a personal best time of 3:42.52 in the 1500m, finishing in 23rd place.
- Bianchi, competing in the 3000m steeplechase, battled his way to sixth place and a time of 8:51.85. That broke Bill Norris' record set in the 1960's, and qualifies the Laguna Beach, California native for ACC's.
- Aidan Brancaccio also competed in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing with a time of 9:11.84
