Boston College Ready For ACC Outdoor Championships

Eagles kick off with 1500m and 10,000m Thursday evening
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College Men's Track and Field is slated to compete in the 2026 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held in Louisville's Cardinal from May 14-16. All action can be streamed on ACCNX and ESPN+.

Seven Eagles will compete across five events in this year's championships. This year's hosts, Louisville and Virginia, are among the favorites, ranking No. 10 and No. 20 in the USTFCCCA heading into championship weekend.

Action will begin on Thursday, May 14, at 5:00 p.m. Colin Peattie and Theodor Schucht will race in the 1500m prelim, aiming to qualify for Saturday's 1500m Final. Aidan Brancaccio will also race Thursday evening, competing in the 10,000m Final.

Podium finishers in each event and the top relay team will earn an All-ACC First Team distinction, while the athletes who finish fourth through sixth in each event and the second and third place relay team will be honored as second team.

Schucht headlines the group, remaining in the top 48 of the NCAA East Region for the 5000m. The sophomore from Berlin, Germany, has twice improved on his school record time in the event, most recently at the Bryan Clay Invitational on April 16. He added the fifth fastest 1500m time at the Penn Relays on April 23, running a 3:43.31 for a top 10 finish.

Additionally, Mateo Bianchi will look to improve on his time in the 3000m steeplechase. The Laguna Beach, California native most recently broke a 50-year school record in the event at the Duke Twilight on May 3, running an 8:51.85. He currently ranks 50th in the East Region, and will compete in the 3000m steeplechase on Friday, May 15.
