Onik Wins Gold at NCAA Northeast Regional

Poughkeepsie, NY. — The Boston College fencing team competed at the NCAA Northeast Regional today on the campus of Vassar College. Elijah Onik was victorious in the foil to lead the Eagles.
In men's foil, Onik was victorious as Boston College had four athletes competing. Yikai Lu was 11th, Eric Li was 22nd, and Sebastian Elwood was 29th.
In men's epee, Ivan Goriunov was the top finisher as he came in 12th. Alex Sennewald came in 16th, Daniel Gao tied for 19th, and Thomas Huang placed 25th.
In men's saber, Gabriel Babayev placed 11th to lead the Eagles. Ryan Wong finished 14th, Luca Berman earned 19th, while Lukaas Eichhorn came in 31st.
On the women's side, Junyao Lu finished 24th in women's epee and Tallulah Ngyuen earned 35th.
In women's saber, Lydia Johnson was the highest finisher at 17th. Sela Feig and Rachel Buhay came in 30th and 31st while Alissa Khan placed 41st to round out the Eagles that competed in saber.
Lastly, in the foil competition, Taylor Sartori came in 16th to lead Boston College. The Eagles also had Julia Babiac (19th), Cameron Cho (T20), and Isabella Paulus (28th)
Up Next: The field for the national championships will be officially announced on Tuesday, March 10. The 2026 Fencing National Championships will be held March 19-22 at Notre Dame.
