BEFORE BC
A native of Bridgewater, N.J., Gao attended Weston High School in Weston, Mass., graduating in 2024. He competed in fencing from 2020-24 and specializes in epee. Gao is the 2026 U.S. Junior Olympics National Champion and a two-time gold medalist at the Pan-American Championships. He has earned 60 regional medals, two Northeast Region No. 1 rankings and 10 U.S. National medals, reaching as high as No. 14 in the United States and No. 5 in the Under-20 rankings. Gao has also represented Team USA 25 times at competitions across the Americas, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He has competed with Cavalier Fencing Club since 2022. At Boston College, Gao majors in Economics with minors in Finance and Computer Science.
